Sarah and Jon Apgar

I have blogged a lot about Sarah and her walk with Autism. Today I am going blog about one of her staff members Jon Apgar and his contribution to how well she is doing today.
You see, Jon Apgar passed away yesterday from an aggressive form of kidney cancer. He was only 30 years old.
Before he went to work at PCL he was a former WOU Linebacker. He was wowing many football fans on the football field. He was a football star in his own right.

I don't know what made this young man want to work with challenged people, but I am so glad he did. He loved his job and I happen to know that Sarah liked him a lot. She always called him by his full name and talked about him a lot.

He was able to get through to her when others could not.
When Robert and I first met Jon he was working with Sarah at a crisis home. He was 6'2, muscular and had bright blue eyes full of life. You could tell that he had a very kind heart.
He leaves behind his wife of only a little over a year and their baby girl. Plus many family members, friends and fans.
He will be missed.

  1. I'm Jon's cousin. That kind heart was even a part of him even as a child. It's very hard to think that he was taken from us. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
